Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov sent a letter of condolences to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, after Wednesday's terror attack in Tehran.
"I received the word about the dreadful terror act in Tehran with concern and sorrow, and I sincerely regret the lives that were lost. There are no words that can lessen the pain of the families of those killed, but allow me to express my condolences, in the name of the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia and in my own name", President Ivanov wrote to President Rouhani.
President Ivanov adds that terror threats can only be defeated with a coordinated, joint and uncompromising response.
"Macedonia stands shoulder to shoulder with the entire international community in the fight against terrorism", President Ivanov added.
