Bujar Osmani, Deputy PM in charge of EU affairs, held Wednesday his first official meeting after being appointed with the EU Ambassador to Macedonia, Samuel Zbogar, the Secretariat for European Affairs said.
The two interlocutors discussed the priorities of the new government in the coming period as part of the activities aimed at EU accession.
"We are facing great challenges to make up for lost time due to the protracted political crisis and to get Macedonia back on the track on EU integration. We hope we will achieve this by cooperating closely with all social actors in the country all the while being supported by our international friends, in particular in partnership with the European Commission and the EU Delegation," Osmani stated.
Upon my proposal, he said, the government has made a decision to follow closely the dynamic of EU integration reforms in compliance with the Urgent Reform Priorities and to provide an in-depth insight into IPA funds.
EU integration remains the country's strategic priority, Deputy PM Osmani said reiterating the position of the new government.
Furthermore, Osmani and Zbogar concurred that a lot of hard work was needed to implement reforms through close cooperation between the government and Parliament in the coming period, stated the press release.
