During its close to 60 years of existence the Ohrid Summer Festival has become Macedonia's brand, which promoted the country across the globe, Culture Minister Elizabeta Kanceska-Milevska told a press conference on Wednesday.
'For the last 10 years, under the support of the Ministry of Culture, over 500 events have been realized within the Ohrid Summer Festival, including the concerts of Elina Garanca, Dmitri Hvorostovsky, Jessye Norman, Ennio Morricone...as well as the performances of St Petersburg Vera Komissarzhevskaya theater, Slovene National Theater, Turkey's National Theater, Sfumato Laboratory Theatre in Sofia, Israel's National Theater Habima and many others,' Kanceska Milevska said, notifying that the festival also promoted a great number of domestic artists and ensembles.
This year, she said, Ohrid will host more than 300 artists from 20 countries, namely from China, Indonesia, US, Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Austria, Canada, Poland etc.
The Festival will also offer an off-program of concerts and exhibits.
