Macedonia joined Saturday the Earth Hour 2017 by turning the lights off on certain locations in Skopje and Ohrid, as a symbolic support for action on climate change.
In Macedonia the lights went off at 8:30 pm local time, plunging into darkness numerous monuments in Skopje and Ohrid.
A photo #EarthHourMK#, taken on Vodno mountain in Skopje, is declared as the best of this year's campaign across the globe, Skopje Earth Hour Association says.
Last night Macedonia demonstrated its capacity to make a change, said Gjorgi Selkov, one of the organizers of the EarthHour campaign in the country.
Major landmarks around the world in 170 countries turned out their lights on Saturday at 8:00 pm local time to mark Earth Hour, an event that draws attention to climate change.
