Regatta for Macedonia: Sailing across Ohrid Lake instead of ProtestsDomestic | March 18, 2017, Saturday @ 20:04| 209 views
A regatta of boats set sail across the Ohrid Lake in the name of Macedonia. The organization of the initiative For a Joint Macedonia decided to express their dissatisfaction in a different form, instead of a protest.
"You better believe it, what is now happening in Macedonia is really awakening the country. The feeling of unity that is emerging now is a winning combination for our country and our people must not be played," said Ohrid-based actor Goran Stojanovski.
Boris Damovski, member of the initiative, said the people know how to protect their motherland.
"We have a guard of some 150,000 citizens across Macedonia every day, and today we are here to sail the Ohrid waters, to continue to demand what we started and be tenacious, and keep what is our heritage," Damovski said.
The initiator of the rallies For a Joint Macedonia Bogdan Ilievski, said the protest will last as long as necessary.
"Protests have the tendency to grow more massive and we are on the right track. Over 150,000 people are on the streets every day and that is an amazing indicator that the honest mindset we had will grow among us," Ilievski said.
