Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) leader Ali Ahmeti met Friday with French Ambassador Christian Thimonier, tackling political developments in Macedonia and the region, including the urgent need for settlement of the political crisis in the country.

Ahmeti briefed Thimonier of his initiative for parliamentary parties to launch a dialogue towards finding a compromise and completion of the Parliament's constitution as the starting point for the crisis resolution, DUI said in a press release.

Ahmeti also told Thimonier that the joint declaration of parties of ethnic Albanians in Macedonia fully complies with the Ohrid Framework Agreement and the Constitution, representing a summary of the parties' election programs.

Ahmeti reiterated that Ivanov and other politicians should not dare turn the political into an ethnic crisis, demonstrating maximum restraint from fueling hatred between the two ethnic communities, reads the press release.
